‘Hidden Figures’ Trailer: Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer Break Glass Ceiling as 1960s NASA Scientists

20th Century Fox has debuted the first trailer for its upcoming movie Hidden Figures during the coverage of the Rio Summer Olympics.

The film centers on the untold story of Katherine G. Johnson who is played by Taraji P. Henson, Dorothy Vaughan who is played by Octavia Spencer and Mary Jackson who is played by Janelle Monáe who were brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history which was the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit in 1962.

The first trailer shows how the trio battled stereotypes and defied expectations all the while as they made history.

The cast also includes all stars such as Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge and Glen Powell.

Allison Schroeder and Theodore Melfi wrote the screenplay, with Melfi directing. The movie is set to hit theaters Jan. 13.
