Music is the universal language. It can change your mood or express exactly how you’re feeling. Music may be the emotional antidote for what we are dealing with now. Black Hollywood Live empathizes and will continue to seek and “discover” new artists to help promote their careers. In addition, we will continue to cover artists we already love that’s nourishing us with their fresh new sounds.
Queen Bey has done it again, last week Beyoné Giselle Knowles-Carter dropped a new song “Black Parade” on Juneteenth which she dropped to elevate black owned business through this difficult time, “‘Black Parade’ celebrates you, your voice and your joy and will benefit Black-owned small businesses,”she posted on her instagram.
This single was dropped without any marketing or notice and it reached #1 on iTunes the same day. How does she do it?
Beyoncé is at the place in her career where she can have full control over the type of music she makes, how to produce the videos, and when to drop it. Especially with her husband Jay Z’s own streaming service, Tidal. This gives Beyoncé her own platform to truly be a visionary with whatever projects she would like to release.
Beyoncé is a trend setter and has high staying power as she has been able to turn her image into an empire with multiple businesses, clothing lines, streaming music service, charities, low income housing, foundations, documentaries, and the list goes on. Fans know that everytime Beyoncé’s name is on something, she comes to slay!
She started Ivy Park in 2016, with a limited range of items and a few failed partnerships. In 2019 Ivy Park got a re-birth when they launched a collaboration with Addias. This was a new creative direction for Ivy Park which paid off – as the website is still sold out.
“This is the partnership of a lifetime for me… Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth, and social responsibilityat the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.” written on the official Ivy park website.
Jay -Z and Beyoncé are the first Black couple to own a streaming music service. On top of that, Beyoncé’s vision for her music and the messages she displays are unique and unmatched. She is a true leader in the music industry, with full visual albums that tell a story from beginning to end.
Beyoncé has evolved as an artist, entrepreneur ,and humanitarian. She uses her music as a way to spread her message. She lets her music do the talking for her, for example when she performed at the Super Bowl in 2013 she came out with a performance that represented black power. As well as when she went to Coachella in 2018 she represented HBCUs on both weekends of her performances.
There is a mystery about Beyoncé. As she expresses herself through her music, she always leaves her BeyHive wanting more.. Beyoncé’s music is always for the culture as it empowers women as well as inspires men as she talks about love, life, family, and friendships.
Beyoncé first dropped her self-titled album Beyonce in 2013 on iTunes with no public announcement, promo video, or single. Now, Beyonce is not the first person to drop an entire project all at once, but she is the first artist of her magnitude to drop a full visual album with no promotion.
Beyoncé’s influence is strong and since 2013, she has started a new standard of dropping projects on her own as she dropped Lemonade and Everything is Love with full visuals for each song.
Beyoncé is an artist that uses her platform for the betterment of the Black community and sets the bar when it comes to her performances. From her outfits, powerful political messages ,and support of the HBCUs, fans do not know what is coming next from her- which keeps the excitement around everything she touches.
Beyoncé SLAYYYYSSS everything she does and the BeyHive would expect nothing less from her!
