Born in Harlem but raised in Cairo, Egypt, Ororo Munroe, known to the world as ‘Storm’ has been kicking butt and taking names since her debut in 1975 in Giant-size X-men issue #1.

Daughter to Kenyan princess, N’Dare, and an American photographer, David Munroe, Storm spent most of her younger years in Egypt. Unfortunately, a few years after her family moved there, both her parents died in a Plane crash, leaving her alone.

During her time as an orphan, Storm lived in the streets and became a proficient thief under the teachings of master thief Achmed el-Gibar. Little did she know that one of her most notable victims would be Charles Francis Xavier, now known as Professor X, and that same person would go on to recruit Storm to the X-Men.

Although spending time with many teams in the Marvel universe including the Avenger, and Fantastic Four, some of Storm’s most notable storylines come with her time with the X-men, leading them into battles against Doom, and Magneto, as well sharing a love story with the King of Wakanda, T’Challa aka Black Panther.

In the 45 years of her existence in Marvel Comics, Storm has had many different iterations, live-action and animation, most notably being Halle Berry’s portrayal of the African priestesses, and more recently Alexandra Shipp.

With the abilities to control the elements, as well as fly, Storm is widely considered one of the strongest mutants on earth. And now that the rights to all the X-men characters is back with Marvel, who do you want to see play ‘Storm’ in the MCU?
