EXCLUSIVE – This year seems to be flying by, but that only means we’re one step closer to the release of Zombies 2, and now we officially have a release date.

Zombies’ star Carla Jeffrey was at Disney’s D23 Expo over the weekend in Anaheim, California and dropped the date we can see a sequel to the hit movie. Previous reports had it coming out sometime in February of 2020, but Jeffrey said the official date is Valentine’s Day!

“February 14th!” exclaimed Jeffrey. “I’m so excited!”

Jeffrey talked with Black Hollywood Live’s Chaé Jones and shared she was ecstatic when the sequel was announced.

“I honestly, I was, like, like I was beyond happy. I’m like, they’re bringing it back?” said Jeffrey. “I’m so happy that I get to be Bree again. Oh my gosh, I’m like too excited. Had so much fun filming this time.”

The first Zombies movie, a Disney Channel original, came out in 2018. It follows a zombie football player and a human cheerleader who fall in love and must lead their respective groups to coexist with one another. The movie also starred Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly.

In the sequel, Jeffrey teased we could see love story between her character, Bree, and Bonzo.

“That you’ll have to, you’ll have to watch, you’ll have to watch to see how close Bree and Bonzo actually get this time,” said Jeffrey. “All I’m gonna say is I’m gonna be trying, and he’s gonna be trying just as well. That’s why, seroiusly, everything that’s new in this. Oh my gosh, you guys are gonna love it.”
