Our favorite members of Black Hollywood are in Quarantine but that doesn’t mean they’re not every bit as busy. Some are entertaining, some are teaching and some are just sharing but, as always, they’re compelling.  Our Black Hollywood in Quarantine covers the goings on of celebrities and influencers in this challenging time.

Power couple Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union took to Instagram Live yesterday to promote their partnership with Budweiser by having a bud together.

What was initially billed as a 15 minute long kick-back as part of a promotional spot for Budweiser turned into a joyous, hour-long, intimate Instagram Live hangout, for Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union. The two covered so many subjects from Dwayne’s highlight of the year, their TV watching habits, and Gabrielle revealing her top three movie sets. Plus Dwayne revealed himself as a member of the Beyhive!

Though his jersey was retired this year, it is the Michael Jordan docuseries, The Last Dance that has inspired Dwayne Wade most

in 2020.  Wade said that the whole Bulls era covered in the show 1984-1998 was “his childhood”. It was Jordan winning the championship that inspired Wade to pursue basketball as a career and cemented his sights on winning a championship as well.

The couple also confessed love for Little Fires Everywhere, Ozark and Never Have I Ever. Said Gabrielle when asked repeatedly, by fans about the CW drama, “We watched All American so fast!”

Insecure receives high marks from the pair, with Gabrielle asserting Wade is “Lawrence hive.” He hopes Issa and Lawrence get back together and thinks they should have never broken up. He said, “They’re back on their little talk talk right now…I told them they shoulda stuck it out!”

They also asked for suggestions from Live’s audience, but most people suggested shows they’d already seen. They got a laugh out of Tiffany Haddish offering her show The Last O.G. She appeared on screen from her home and stoked gossip flames of a covid romance, when rapper and author Common appeared in a gas mask, seconds before she logged off.

What was the hilarious was Wade’s insistence,

“Can we talk about Beyonce as a rapper, real quick?!”

The basketball star went on to compliment the multi platinum artists’ swag until finally asserting,

“I want a full Beyonce rap record!”

Gabrielle concurred and when asked about her top 3 films set experiences she named,

Number 1, Deliver Us From Eva, number 2 Bad Boys 2, and number 3, Bring It On. I had the time of my life filming those!”

The hangout included an appearance by another superstar, the couple’s toddler daughter Kaavia, who has her own Instagram account with 1.2 million followers. The “shady baby” as she’s known by fans, did “cheers” with dad’s bud bottle and her applesauce, to adorable effect. A simple hang out in their California backyard offered so many funny and enlightening moments about the pair. I’m raising my applesauce in the hopes that they do it again.
