Community fans are all for #SixSeasonsAndAMovie, and apparently so is the cast!
Yvette Nicole Brown guested on Black Hollywood Live’s The Curvy Critic and spoke about the possibility of an upcoming Community movie.
“Unless they’re doing one [a movie] without me I don’t think there’s one coming right now,” Brown said. “They could be, I don’t know. I wasn’t in there last season. They might be shooting right now.”
Despite anything being official, Brown stressed how excited the rest of the cast would be to return and be part of a movie.
“I think right now, you know, look, Donald Glover, Alison [Brie], Danny [Pudi], everybody’s so busy,” Brown said. “It’s like, how do you find the time to get everybody together to do it, but, I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t do it, I’ll say that.”
Besides, #SixSeasonsAndAMovie needs to happen for the show that coined the phrase.
Community, which ran from 2009 to 2014, finished with six seasons. The character Abed used the phrase “six seasons and a movie” in reference to a show that he wanted to succeed. Since then, the expression has since become a sort of rallying cry for not only Community but, also, anytime somebody is championing for a show in general.
After the show’s cancellation during the sixth season—and lack of movie—fans all over demanded the movie to finish out what had become an inside joke among the Community fandom.
“I think we do need to fulfill the movie part of the six seasons,” Brown said.
We may not have our movie, but for now Community fans can find some solace in Brown’s excitement over the #SixSeasonsAndAMovie “prophecy” someday happening.
